WELCOME to I-5 North Coast

The California Transportation Commission (CTC) made history on February 28, 2007 by approving three significant highway improvement projects as part of the Corridor Management Improvement Account (CMIA).

The Interstate 5 (I-5) corridor in North County is one of the most frequently traveled freeways in San Diego County. By the year 2030, the number of vehicles using I-5 daily is expected to nearly double.

The project proposes to add two Managed Lanes in each direction and potentially additional freeway and auxiliary lanes where needed. The Managed Lanes will be used by carpools, vanpools and transit riders at no cost and to single occupant vehicles for a fee if room is available. Click here to continue
